Monday, 7:00 PM - Give dog soup bone from Mimi.
Monday, 9:00 PM - Call Mimi to thank her for soup bone - Spike is thoroughly enjoying it and has eaten about half of it.
Monday, 11:00 PM - Take Spike to bed after he has consumed entire soup bone.
Tuesday, 2:00 AM - Dog is making annoying licks on the carpet, ignore and go back to sleep.
Tuesday, 3:30 AM - Dog's licking turns to smacking of the lips and coughing, attempt to ignore and go back to sleep (slightly annoyed).
Tuesday, 5:00 AM - Can no longer ignore dog's coughing, which has turned to hacking. Bring him Harlie's babydoll's bathtub filled with cold water. Force him to drink. Attempt to go back to sleep.
Tuesday, 5:30 AM - Dog is on bed, as usual. Try to get comfortable with him under my legs.
Tuesday, 5:45 AM - Hear dog beginning to vomit; shove him in an attempt to keep the vomit off the bed. Think he's on the floor, but bed shakes with each heave. Wake Mike up and yell at him for shaking every time Spike pukes.
Tuesday, 7:00 AM - Mike gets up to shower and says, "Do you even know where the dog threw up?" I inspect entire bedroom, and find that I need to scrub the floor, change the sheets, scrub the mattress, and wash two comforters.
Tuesday, 7:30 AM - Thanks a lot, Mimi.

Busy Busy Busy

Once again I'm in the middle of a very busy time, so I don't really have time to write much. Here's what's been going on:
School started and Mike is subbing again, getting a job pretty much every day. Still nothing permanent, but we're still praying.
Harlie is becoming such a sweet, lively little girl. She loves to dance and she makes up songs about everything - she gets that from her silly mother.
Jordan is creeping along very quickly, and she's into everything. We call her "Mayhem" and sometimes "Monster" because of her attitude and mess-making skills. She really is quite pleasant most of the time, but she does have a somewhat evil side.
Both girls have been going to bed around 6:30, so we do at least have a few hours of peace in the evenings.
Spike has done his fair share of bad things, including jumping on the dining room table (that's right - all four legs and standing upright) this very morning to grab a new toy I'd told him twice he couldn't have. Guess he showed me! But he's also still a very appreciative little guy, and when I did give him a new toy last night (hence the answer no at having another new one this morning), he loved it so much he even carried it upstairs at bedtime and slept with it all night.
We are still loving being parents and yes, we are hoping for at least one more as soon as God is willing.
I'm not sure if I ever posted about it, but Mike and I have accepted a position at the church as Christian Education Director, and that's been taking up some extra time. Mike has been doing most of the work, even though I'm the one who originally wanted to apply for the job. I'm not complaining, though!
I've concluded that you can't actually accomplish items on a "to do" list as long as you have children and run a business from home. I'll have a clean and organized house when I'm in my 60s.
Harlie and Zoey's birthdays (both on Halloween) are coming up soon, and we've starting planning for them.
Good night!

Summertime...
In no particular order, here are some of our recent photos. It's late and I'm tired, so no time to write other than the captions. Love you guys!
Harlie thought the Sonic cup was hilarious. She said, "Mommy, that ice cream cone has arms. He's doing this." Hence the demonstration. She was laughing hysterically. So sweet.

Noodle Nose and Doodle Bug
Hi!
Just thought I'd make a post in which I actually write a little, since I haven't done that in a while. If you're wondering which is which (speaking of the nicknames I used for my title), Harlie is Noodle Nose and Jordan is Doodle Bug, most days.
The girls are doing great, both growing at a rate that depresses me completely, but thrills me at the same time. Harlie is becoming her own little "woman" so quickly. I have to scold her quite often for "reading" too late, and she has the sweetest, cutest, smartest things to say all the time. She never stops talking (still), just like her mommy. It's like talking to an adult sometimes.
Today she reminded me that, "One time you took away my books because you were irritated with me." It's true, and it cracks me up that she knows the word irritated! She's been attending Sunday School, and I'm not sure how she does once she's in there, because I don't observe, but I believe she's doing pretty well. I'm proud of what a big girl she's becoming.
Jordan is hitting that sweet smiley happy stage, and we're loving it. Just today she was laughing at me for some goofy thing I was doing, which is great, because with me as a mom, it's pretty much just goofiness. She's definitely eating well, and it shows, but I absolutely love a fat baby. She's been sleeping through the night for almost a month now, and it has been so nice for us. She's still the best baby ever, and I could easily have ten more of her right now (okay maybe just five). She does NOT like the heat, however, so she's had a hard time falling asleep during nap times the past few days, with what we in Johnstown call a heatwave. She finally took a 4 hour nap today when I stripped her down to just her diaper and sat her in the living room with the fan blowing. Poor kiddo!
As for Mikey and me, we're doing well. He's finishing up the school year (still subbing) and we're hoping something opens up for next year, but we know it's not a guarantee. I'm still working an awful lot between my photography and the church, but I'm finding a balance with the home business and spending time with the kids, and still accomplishing my household "chores". I'm thinking having two kids isn't really any harder, it's just busier, and even more fulfilling. We've got a few vacations planned for the summer, and we're hoping to camp a little bit; family quality time is becoming more and more important to us.
Well, I'm off to relax a bit before bed. Have a great weekend - we'll be working a wedding on Saturday, spending time with family Sunday and Monday, and hopefully planting the garden at some point!

A Happy Mother's Day
I'm heading to work at the church - no time to write much, but here are some Mother's Day photos for you all to enjoy:
